Camera Kids

It is impossible to ignore technological advances and their uses in our society. With the array of media available, it is not unlikely for the average person to use at least four different electronic or digital technologies per day. While digital music players, LCD televisions, and both console and handheld gaming systems are used daily for entertainment, other technologies and the ability to use them efficiently are required for employment in most careers.

For this reason, technology standards have been added to education curriculum across the country, some starting as early as pre-school. Some people may think this is too young considering the cost of technology and the lack of carefulness in preschoolers, but all types of learning must begin somewhere.

As of 2009, children in the range of 8 - 18 spend nearly 11 hours a day using various types of electronic or digital technology; therefore, it is a good idea to make sure they know how to use and care for different kinds of technological media from an early age. Digital cameras designed for Pre-K children are a great place to start.

There are several cameras designed for children. Hello Kitty and Spy Gear make digital cameras for children over eight, while Kidz Cam and Fisher Price market digital cameras with young children in mind. In fact, the Fisher Price model is called the Kid-Tough Camera and offers a durable carrying case that reinforces proper camera care, even though this camera is designed to withstand the normal bumps, bruises, and falls of being owned by a child. In addition, parents and teachers can use this opportunity to model computer uses, like PowerPoint or Photoshop, as well as developing the pictures that have been taken.
