Types of Scene Photography

There are many types of scene photography. The type of camera can have an ultimate bearing on what kind of photo you end up with when trying to take scenic photographs. Generally if you’re not a professional photographer, you should use a throw away 35mm camera or a plastic 35mm camera. The film is inexpensive to use so you can take numerous photos.

Different types of scene photography can be anything from crime scene photographs to scenic photographs of landscape or city scenes to personal photographs.

A police officer takes scene photographs following a crime. For these types of scene photography, they would generally use one of the cheaper forms of photo taking due to the inexperience of the officer as a photographer. In the crime scene photo, the officer would want to take at least three different photos for each scene starting with a distant photo, a closer in between, and then a close up of the crime scene. This will enable the officer to use the photos for a guide during a trial.

Landscape scenic photography is another type of scene photography. This is usually taken of the natural scenes of our landscapes. They can vary, including taking photos of waterfalls, winter themes, desert photos, and cityscape photos, as well as many others. These photos need to be taken with a professional type of camera and generally need to be taken using a tripod for level pictures. When taking a landscape photograph one wants to make sure that they have a horizon and a foreground object in the picture in order to make the picture have a more three dimensional look. People and animals are generally not used in a landscape photograph, but they can give a more defined sense of scale in the photograph.
