A photographer must be patient while taking a photo in order to get the perfect shot. There are quite a few different ways to learn how to excel in this field.
Many people learn how to become a photographer by getting a formal education (the price may be a bit costly). One of the great things about formal education is that by the time you are finished and receive your degree, your portfolio will be complete. Another way that you can learn to be a photographer is being an apprentice (photographers right hand man or woman). You will get experience and accumulate knowledge about photography by being an apprentice.
If you are interested in photography and do not have the funds for a school program, do it on your own. The way to receive an informal education is to go to a library or a book store, getting books on this topic. Informal education may not be expensive and is ideal for a person who learns well on his or her own. Another great way of becoming an photographer is to get experience; you can simply purchase a camera and take pictures. The best way for this method to work is to be honest with yourself and give your work as gift to friends and family.
Whether you get your teachings formally, informally, from experience or as an apprentice, you will need to know the basics such as photographic process and study photos. It would also help to know names of great photographers such as Alfred Stieglitz, TS Satyan, etc.
