David Muench

David Muench is a well known American photographer. He is particularly fond of American western scenery and landscapes. David Muench was born in the city of Santa Barbara, California on June 25, 1936. For over forty years, David has been a freelance photographer. Some of the schools that he has attended include the Art Center School of Design, the University of California in Santa Barbara, and the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. His work has been featured in several books, magazines and posters. His father, Josef Muench, was also a landscape photographer. David?s son, Marc, carries on this family profession of outdoor and landscape photography.

David Muench?s photography has been published in several photography books. One such book is entitled National Parks of America. It features beautiful landscape photos of many of America?s favorite national parks. Some of these national parks include The Great Smoky Mountains, Glacier, Yellowstone, Big Bend, Redwoods, and Hawaii Volcanoes. These magnificent photographs are followed by text that is written by Stewart and James Udall.

Another great photography book that contains Muench?s images is one called Images in Stone. The images in this book are of rock artifacts that have been chiseled or painted many years ago. These rocks and rock walls are located in the American Southwest where ancient civilizations once thrived. The text in this book is written by an anthropologist named Polly Schaafsma. She narrates each pictograph and drawing by explaining who the people were that created this art.
