Most people enjoy the simple beauty of flowers in full bloom but capturing that beauty in photography can sometimes be tricky. Have you ever tried to take photographs of flowers thinking that your subject would make a great shot? Maybe after taking the picture and getting it printed you wonder how it could have happened. Photographing flowers can be fun and with these tips you can take great photographs of any flower.
There are several things to consider before you start shooting the pictures of your favorite flowers. The first is lighting. The best time of day to capture the best lighting is early morning and late afternoon. The second is the stage of the bloom, do you want the flower in the budding stage or in full bloom. Do you want the effect to be stunning and breathtaking with a full bloom or simple, elegant and full of promise in the budding stage? The effects can be quite dramatic depending on the stage of the bloom. Lightly spraying the flower with water can provide a fresh and stimulating effect. One of the biggest and most important factors is the background. Remember less is more; you want the background to enhance the subject, not overpower the subject. Some experts never use white for the background for this reason. A busy background will detract from the natural beauty of the subject. Some master photographers will blur the background making the subject the main focal point. Last but not least try taking shots from different angles. Each angle will provide different shadows and light.
Remember these tips the next time you are shooting photographs of your favorite flower and you?ll be taking getting shots like the pros in not time.
