Hasselblad, a Famous Sweedish Camera

A Hasselblad is a type of medium-format camera. The 'blad is most famous for being the camera that was used to take the photographs during the Apollo Program missions. This was when man first landed on the moon. They are still used today by professional and amateur photographers.

The Hasselbland camera is a very popular series of cameras made by the Hasselblad Corporation in Sweden. The 500 series of cameras is one of the first system cameras made. This camera has an extreme advantage over other cameras. Almost everything on the camera is interchangeable. You can interchange the lens, prism viewfinder, cranking knob and film back. It gives the camera great flexibility. The first 500C was made in 1957. Since that date, these models have been updated and perfected. The body of this series is well known. As long as it is well cared for, it can be used up to 40 years. There are other models in the 500 series, and most of them have had very little revisions.

Hasselbland also has some motorized cameras. They build the motor-drive into the bottom of the cameras. Some of the cameras give the professional more flexibility which makes them more attractive.
